My favourite Greek restaurant in the UK is located in the centre of Guildford, close to the Castle.
The Theion provides traditional yet refined dining experiences with excellent service filled with the warmth of Greek hospitality. The dishes are made using seasonal and high-quality ingredients only. The best way to enjoy this freshly prepared food is to share it, like Greeks do at a family meal. I like to order some dips, a salad, and several starters and share them between us while chatting and waiting for our main dishes to arrive. The Theion also has an excellent wine selection. My favourites are the Sauvignon Blanc from the Alpha Estate winery and the Robola wine from Kephalonia island.
Here is a little extract from Theion’s website to learn more about this amazing restaurant:
“Head Chef Tamas Rakoczi brings his passion for bold flavours and impeccable technique to every plate, blending traditional Greek recipes with contemporary touches. His approach ensures each dish is a harmony of taste, creativity, and comfort, plated with an inviting elegance that reflects our relaxed yet refined atmosphere. Whether you’re indulging in the rich tastes of the Mediterranean or discovering new seasonal delights, Theion promises a dining experience that is both intimate and unforgettable.”
