Angistri island is more than a getaway – it’s a slice of paradise.

Sitting close to Aegina and Poros, Angistri is easily accessible in less than an hour by hydrofoil from Piraeus, which makes it an ideal destination for a day trip.
Its landmark, the “Holy Unmercenaries” (Agioi Anargyroi) church with its bright white walls and azure blue dome is visible from the sea. The ferry docks in Skala which is the main port and town of the island. A short stroll alongside the colourful cafes, hotels and traditional taverns leads to the long, organised beach of Skala. The shallow, turquoise water is incredibly clear; making it hard to believe that the bustling port of Piraeus is only a short boat ride away. The island’s other town, Megalochori, can be reached by a (20–30-minute) leisurely walk along the seashore.
Although this small island only has a few beaches, they are all blessed with beautiful natural scenery. If you are short on time in Athens but want to enjoy the sun and the sea, Angistri is an excellent choice.
